Clemson extended an offer today while Wynn was visiting for Junior Day (as a sophomore).  Both of his parents attended Clemson, and his father played football in the Valley as well.

Announced today that he is transferring from TL Hanna to IMG. He'll join fellow 2018 DL target Xavier Thomas and LB commit Mike Jones Jr.

Not sure where he's located even matters. If Clemson wants him they should be able to land him.

I was thinking more about having Jones as our salesman working the others. Of course it may be more like Jones + Wynn working Thomas.

TNet has an interview where Wynn says Clemson is no longer in contention.... I was wondering if this would happen with Thomas, Belk and Mascoll already committed and Henry being the bigger priority.

Wynn wants to play DE. Clemson would only take him as a DT.

The tigernet article quotes him as saying it is more am issue with Coach Bates than where to play. He says he doesn't care if he plays inside or out.

I wonder if this is just his way of "saving face."  Would he still be a "take" at this point?  It doesn't seem like it.

We have offers out to 4 defensive ends (with 2 commitments) and at least 2 defensive tackles (including a prospect that is rumored to be a silent commitment) that we rate more highly than Wynn - who is a tweener. Since this is going to be another small class, we are slow playing him, and he's receiving a much more aggressive recruitment from his other offers.

Once Xavier Thomas committed, and with KJ Henry still on the board, Wynn's chances of being a Tiger plummeted.

Who is a silent commit?

Announcement coming up in the next few weeks.

Likely UGA or South Carolina. Clemson hasn't been involved here for quite some time.

Disappointing couldn't find room for him, but says volumes when you can't make room for a 4* legacy. Wish nothing but the best for him.

I think the room was there early on, but he misplayed the card he was handed. Legacy only goes so far.

If Wynn was a 2019 prospect he'd be on board. Just not enough room compared to where he stacked up on Clemson's board. Unfortunate.
